What's a Microbe?

Microbes or microorganisms are living cells that are too

small to be seen with the naked eye and must be viewed through a microscope to be seen. The naked eye is only able to detect the presence of microbes once they have multiplied to the hundreds of thousands. Under the right conditions, microbes can double in number every 15-20 minutes. Types of micro-organisms include bacteria, algae, fungi and mould.

Microban® antimicrobial product protection is engineered to protect products from bacteria, mould and in some cases algae that can cause stains, odours and product deterioration. Microban protection is not designed to protect users from disease causing micro organisms.
 

How Does Microban Protection work?

Microban® technology is built-in to a product during the manufacturing process and becomes an intrinsic part of the product beneath and on the surface. When microbes, such as bacteria, mould and mildew that can cause stains, odours and product deterioration come in contact with the product surface, Microban protection penetrates the cell wall of the microbe and disrupts key cell functions so that the microbe cannot function, grow or reproduce.

Atlas Plastic Mat Shelving with Atlas frames and posts feature a true powder-epoxy over zinc-chromate electro-plating that ensures a strong durable finish.

Atlas frames and posts come with a 3 Year WARRANTY against rust and corrosion. They are ideal for dry storage, coolers and freezers. Polymer composition shelf mats are of a modular design allowing easy removal for cleaning.

Atlas Plastic Mats shelving have a vented open grid surface that is smooth and crevice free. Polymer material will never rust or corrode. The shelves are open on all four sides for complete access and superior ventilation. Shelves adjust in 25 mm increments and have a 180Kg loading capacity. 100 mm diameter casters (two with and two without brakes) are available to convert to mobile units. They come in either 4 or 5 tier units and are 1880mm high.
